Preparing for NC 2022 Primary Election

North Carolina’s 2022 primary election is just three weeks away. After having been pushed back due to litigation over redistricting, the primary is set for Tuesday, May 17. Here are some helpful resources for voters in this primary election:

Voter Registration

The voter registration deadline for the primary was April 22, but same-day registration is still available. You can register in person when you visit a one-stop early voting site.

Early Voting Sites

Early voting for the primary begins this Thursday, April 28, and runs until May 14. For a list of one-stop early voting sites in your county, visit the North Carolina State Board of Elections’ one-stop voting webpage.

Who can I vote for?

If you don’t know who is running in your county or district, the State Board of Elections’ Voter Search tool can provide you with a sample ballot to see all the races and candidates you will have the option to vote for in May.

After the primary on May 17, NC Family will begin surveying candidates for our 2022 General Election Voter Guide. This nonpartisan Voter Guide surveys candidates running for U.S. Senate and U.S. House, State Supreme Court and Court of Appeals, and N.C. Senate and N.C. House. This helpful resource allows voters to know where candidates stand on issues like sanctity of human life, parental rights, school choice, gambling, marriage and sexuality, and much more. Voter Guide pre-ordering will be open soon, so stay tuned.

Be sure to get out and vote your values!
