New Study Reveals Abortion Drug Mifepristone Is Even More Dangerous Than Thought

A new study published by the Ethics and Public Policy Center reveals that more than 1-in-10 women experience a serious adverse effect after taking the abortion drug mifepristone. This data, which was collected from real-life insurance claims, comes after almost 10 years of the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) loosening safety restrictions and even allowing mifepristone to be delivered through the mail. In response to this groundbreaking news, David Bereit hosted a webcast featuring national leaders all sharing concerns about mifepristone and calling for our national leaders to take a stand to protect women and children from this dangerous drug. On this webcast, they cover:

  • Real-world evidence from America’s most extensive abortion pill analysis, revealing a devastating more than 1-in-10 risk of severe complications.
  • That this rate of risk “is at least 22 times as high as the summary figure of ‘less than 0.5 percent’ in clinical trials reported on the drug label.”
  • Heartbreaking firsthand testimony from Shanyce, whose traumatic personal experience illustrates the life-threatening dangers women face from conducting at-home chemical abortions.
  • Actions you can take now to help protect women and their children and stop this harm by requesting immediate action from the FDA and HHS.
