For decades now, Planned Parenthood has received millions of dollars of taxpayer money. In its most recent annual report for the 2022-2023 fiscal year, the abortion giant reported receiving almost $700 million from the federal government. During that same year, Planned Parenthood also reported:
- Performing 392,715 abortions (which makes abortions performed in a Planned Parenthood clinic one of the leading causes of death in the nation);
- Producing “educational” content on topics such as why virginity is a made-up concept; and
- Providing services such as cross-sex hormones and puberty blockers, which studies have shown to be harmful to individuals.
At the same time, Planned Parenthood’s actual medical services have consistently declined since 2010. For example:
- Total services are down 17.0%.
- With changing practice guidelines, total cancer screening and prevention services have dropped by 71%, including declines of 72% for breast exams and 74% for pap tests.
- Prenatal services are down 80% from their peak in 2009.
- Contraceptive services are down 39%.
For these reasons and more, NC Family has joined organizations across the country in asking Congress to cut funding for Planned Parenthood in the upcoming reconciliation bill.
