This Sunday, January 19, is Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. Is your church ready to commemorate this important day? A quick call from you could be just the reminder your pastor needs to take this opportunity to promote the value and dignity of every human life.
First recognized in 1984 by President Ronald Reagan, Sanctity of Human Life Day generally falls on or near the date of January 22, the anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that forced the legalization of abortion on every state in the nation. Each year, churches choose a corresponding Sunday to celebrate the precious gift of life and commemorate the tragedy of abortion, which has claimed approximately 61 million American lives over the past 47 years. Moreover, in 2019 alone, the tracking service Worldometers reported there were more than 42 million abortions worldwide, which makes abortion the leading cause of death across the globe.
Help your pastor speak out for life on Sanctity of Human Life Sunday by providing some of the following helpful resources:
Bulletin inserts.
The Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention provides downloadable bulletin inserts. You can use any of the four available here, however read carefully in case the older ones are dated.
Invite a speaker from your local pro-life pregnancy center.
Ask a staff or board member from a local pregnancy center to speak to your church this Sunday. Ask them to set up a table after church for those who might want more information on how to get involved. To find a center near you, go to Optionline and type in your zip code.

Show a video testimonial.
Choice42 has a Choose Life Series of videos that feature testimonials of women who were abortion-vulnerable but chose to keep their baby. NC Family has received permission from Choice42 for you to use these videos at your church.
