This afternoon, Wednesday, May 13, the U.S. House of Representatives passed landmark legislation that would prohibit abortion in the United States 20 weeks or more after fertilization, when unborn babies are capable of experiencing pain. North Carolina Congresswoman Virginia Foxx (R-District 5) presided over the chamber as H.R. 36-Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act was debated and ultimately approved by a 242 to 184 vote.
The passage of H.R. 36 by the U.S. House comes two years after the conviction of abortionist Kermit Gosnell, who is currently serving 30 years in prison for murdering three infants who were born alive during late-term abortions he routinely performed at his Philadelphia abortion clinic.
This important pro-life measure now proceeds to the U.S. Senate for consideration.
