SPECIAL RELEASE: NC Family Publishes 2025 NCGA Votes Report!

The 2025 Legislative Session in North Carolina has been another successful session for families and family values, and there is still more to be done! State lawmakers have passed landmark legislation affirming parental rights, limiting cell phone use in schools, defining “male” and “female” in state statute, and much more. A number of other important measures remain unfinished, including a state budget, bills to eliminate “DEI” in public education and state government, a bill to defund Planned Parenthood of Medicaid dollars, and a measure to further expand school choice in North Carolina.

So, how have your state legislators voted on these critical issues? NC Family has just published a special  Votes Report listing the voting records of state legislators on key issues during the 2025 Legislative Session.

If you don’t know who represents you in the State House and State Senate, visit the Find Your Legislators page on the N.C. General Assembly website.

The information in the NC Family Votes Report is incredibly important for you and your family. As you learn how your state legislators voted on critical issues so far this session, we encourage you to reach out to them and (1) thank them for upholding family values or (2) urge them to support the values you care about.

Our government system works best when its citizens assume an active role, and that includes both voting in elections and holding your legislators accountable while they are in office. It is important to tell them that you appreciate their service and that you are praying for them—thanking them when you agree and encouraging them to reconsider their position if you do not agree.

More About the 2025 Legislative Session

The 2025 Legislative Session began in earnest at the end of January and is technically still underway. State lawmakers will continue to meet on specified days in the coming months until they reconvene for the 2026 “Short” Legislative Session near the end of April 2026.

So far this session, more than 1790 bills have been filed in the State House and State Senate. Of these, NC Family has identified over 350 as “High Priority” bills, meaning we track them closely, publish legislative Issue Briefs and Action Alerts to educate lawmakers and the public, prepare and present committee testimony, and talk with legislators about these issues on a daily basis.

Throughout the session, members of the NC Family staff have testified on multiple bills in multiple committees on issues ranging from parental rights, to education, to gender issues, to gambling; and our supporters across the state have contacted legislators thousands of times to express their views on important bill being considered.

That is why this Votes Report is so important—so that you know how your state lawmakers are voting on the issues you care about!
