Last week, North Carolina’s Fort Liberty (formerly known as Fort Bragg) conducted a training on anti-terrorism, and one of the slides from this presentation was leaked. This slide, entitled “Terrorist Groups,” listed out several pro-life activities and organizations. In addition to the outrageous claim that pro-life groups are “terrorists”, independent journalist Sam Shoeman shared on X that this presentation also, “falsely attribute[s] the bombing of abortion clinics to National Right to Life.”
An anti-terrorism brief was held on Fort Liberty (Bragg) today where they listed several Pro-Life organizations as “terrorist organizations.”
The slide you see here followed right after a slide about ISIS, a terror group in the Middle East.

As this made national news, Fort Liberty posted statements on Facebook and X stating that,
“The slides presented on social media were not vetted by the appropriate approval authorities, and do not reflect the views of the XVIII Airborne Corps and Fort Liberty, the U.S. Army or the Department of Defense.”
They go on to explain that the slides were developed by a local garrison employee and would no longer be used. They add that all future training products would be reviewed to ensure they align with current DoD anti-terrorism guidance.
Shoeman shared evidence in another post, showing that this slide may have been a part of this training since the mid 2000’s. He wrote, “Despite Fort Liberty’s claims that the slide calling pro-life organizations terrorist groups was unapproved, it’s been a part of training for military police and [Access Control Point] ACP for years. The video linked below uses the same slide posted here yesterday, yet the video was posted on June 9, 2023. According to an anonymous source in Fort Liberty’s Provost Marshall, the slide was made in the mid 2000’s by [Directorate of Emergency Services] DES and briefed for the ACP mission (same thing it was briefed for yesterday) . . . The army has identified these organizations as terror groups for AT LEAST a year (likely longer according to the unsubstantiated source in the Provost Marshall), and it’s been used to train actual law enforcement according to the video.”
This slide quickly made national news and elicited responses from many. In a press release responding to this slide, Operation Rescue, one of the pro-life organizations listed, wrote,
“’The person who created the slide was obviously uninformed and could not even manage to correctly spell the word Roe,’ said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. Fort Liberty was extremely irresponsible to allow this nonsense into its training material. It’s absurd when you consider that we are like-minded in our work. We are all working to save innocent lives. Our fight, which, of course, is done through peaceful, legal means, just starts earlier – from the moment of conception.”
The President of National Right to Life, Carol Tobias, shared in a press release, “In a presentation that is deeply offensive to pro-life Americans across the nation, Fort Liberty promoted outright lies about National Right to Life in a demonstration of lazy scholarship. In our over 50-year history, National Right to Life has always, consistently, and unequivocally, condemned violence against anyone.”
“Only under the Biden Administration can peaceful law-abiding citizens and their peaceful activities be considered ‘terrorism’” said Tobias. “The Biden Administration promotes the deaths of preborn babies and advocates for unlimited abortion, but peaceful pro-life Americans are labeled ‘terrorists.’”
It is heartbreaking that we live in a world where organizations committed to saving lives could be equated to ISIS, yet these are the lengths that the pro-choice community is willing to go to in order to push their agenda. We must continue to pray that God will open their eyes to see abortion as the violence that it is to unborn children and their mothers.
