The Beauty of Possibility: Part Two

Ryan Bomber speaking behind a lectern at NC Family's Winston-Salem Dinner

We live in a world where a person’s value is often determined by circumstances beyond their control: whether or not their birth was planned, whether or not they have a disability, or what color their skin is. What much of our world is missing, though, is the recognition that every life is inherently valuable.

This week on Family Policy Matters, hear part two of Ryan Bomberger’s keynote address at NC Family’s 2022 Winston-Salem Dinner, where shares his story about the beauty of possibility.

As a self-proclaimed factivist, Ryan launches right into the facts of the abortion industry. He shares about Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood, and the motivation behind her life work. He includes a quote from one of her books that says, “Birth control . . . is nothing more or less than the facilitation of the process of weeding out the unfit, of preventing the birth of defectives or of those who will become defectives.”

Ryan goes on to reveal what Planned Parenthood looks like today, and how, during COVID, they couldn’t offer services that are real health care, but abortion rates skyrocketed. He includes a quippy video explaining that Planned Parenthood promotes what he terms ‘fake feminism’ – they tell women that they can’t do everything and push abortion as the solution. He contrast this with pregnancy resource centers, which equip women with the resources they need for them and their children to live healthy lives. “Scripture says that we are overcomers, not undercomers.”

Finally he shares the stories of how adoption has changed lives, including his own. He is now the father to four children with his wife, two of whom are adopted. He ends by saying, “Some of the best things in life are unplanned.”
