State Marriage Amendment Rally 2007
Thousands of citizens rallied outside the legislature in Raleigh on March 6 to call for lawmakers to allow a vote on the state marriage amendment. Observers familiar with similar events said this was the largest crowd they had ever seen on the Halifax Mall behind the Legislative Building. more
State Marriage Amendment Information
North Carolina needs an amendment to the State Constitution to insure that marriage is understood by legislators and the courts as to be the union on one man and one woman at one time.

SMA Rally in Raleigh 2005
There's still time to visit your legislators. A Rally to promote a State Marriage Amendment was held in Raleigh on May 10, 2005 at noon on Halifax Mall. Citizens from all over North Carolina came to hear: Tony Perkins, President of the Family Research Council; Dr. Bill Maier, Vice President of Focus on the Family; Wellington Boone, Wellington Boone Ministries, Bob Knight, Concerned Women for America, Mike Johnson, Alliance Defense Fund, Pastor and Mrs. Patrick Wooden, Upper Room Church of God In Christ, and Dr. Danny Akin, president of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Those attending had a great time of fellowship, education on this important issue. A photo of part of the crowd is shown below.
