ALERT: Urge Your U.S. Senators to OPPOSE the So-Called “Equality Act”

H.R. 5, the so-called “Equality Act,” passed the U.S. House last week by a vote of 224-206 and is now pending in the U.S. Senate. President Joe Biden has vowed to sign this misnamed and highly discriminatory bill into law within his first 100 days in office, but the bill’s passage in the U.S. Senate is anything but guaranteed.

We must do everything we can to defeat this incredibly dangerous legislation, and North Carolina’s two U.S. Senators need to hear from you NOW! Please visit NC Family’s Action Center to urge N.C. Senators Richard Burr and Thom Tillis to OPPOSE H.R. 5.

Many have referred to H.R. 5 as the “Inequality Act,” because the bill would elevate “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” to legally protected status. Not only would the bill create civil right-style protections for sexual behaviors and self-determined sexual identities, but it would impose significant penalties and punishments upon those who disagree, even due to deeply held religious beliefs. This is big government pushing a radical social agenda at its worst!

The “Equality Act” will violate privacy rights and impact parental rights, school curriculum, ministries, and faith-based nonprofits, just to name a few. If H.R. 5 becomes law, parents risk losing their children, business owners their businesses, women their privacy and safety in bathrooms and public changing areas, churches their nonprofit status and ability to serve in the community, and female athletes their scholarships and spots on athletic teams.

Thank you to those who responded to NC Family’s previous Action Alert and contacted your U.S. House members to oppose H.R. 5. Now, we ask that you do the same for our U.S. Senators.

Please visit NC Family’s Action Center NOW to contact Senators Burr and Tillis, and ask them to OPPOSE H.R. 5!
